What brought you to Cal State East Bay?
What brought me to Cal State East bay was there amazing Kinesiology programs one of the best in the bay area and the school is closer to home and family for me which makes commuting easier. also the fact that Cal State East Bay is a close nite community school where you can make new friends , and connections with other transfer students with similar majors , and interests to yours.
What are you involved in on campus (IE: Clubs, student organizations etc.)? How have they contributed to your personal and professional growth?
I am currently involved with SLICs Orientation Leader program hosting New student orientations for Transfer Students, Freshmen, and even Parent supporter orientation sessions as well. this program is truly an amazing job to be a part of on campus it feels like we are a close family of coworkers helping each other grow and lead , as well as help new students feel welcome and confident on there first day of school. this job has helped me get our of introverted shell and talk more and lead , as well as do public speaking which i know we all struggle with . but this team has made me feel important and part of something special on campus.
What advice can you give someone transferring to Cal State East Bay?
My advice to new students transferring to Cal State East Bay would be try to get involved with campus life maybe your second semester to join clubs, or even get a job on campus for myself it helped me feel a part of campus life right away working on campus and tabling at events and giving students advice that i wish i had when i transferred here. besides getting involved with campus life i would suggest not overloading you self with to many classes and working try to find a good balance of what you yourself can handle so you can set yourself up for success early in your college career because overloading causes burn out and can cause more stress for you the student so trying to find a good flow of work class balance especially the first few semesters but also just to enjoy yourself and enjoy the benefits campus offers thank you and good luck to all new transfer students on your first semester.
