Cal State East Bay is home to the most diverse student body in the continental United States. Freshmen classes are a priority in our planned return to in-person instruction for Fall 2022 semester. This fall we offer flexible options for classes including on-campus, online and hybrid formats. Freshmen Support in Fall 2021

A dedicated academic advisor. After you accept your offer of admission, you will receive an email to make an appointment with a FASST advisor. Your FASST advisor will support you during your transition to college, your entire first and second years, and will help you stay on track to graduate in four years. Your advisor will schedule a meeting with you to give you a course roadmap for your major degree program. You will also be enrolled in your Fall 2022 semester classes. Look at all the other benefits of enrolling in Fall 2022:

Seats will be reserved in General Education and large major courses for entering freshmen to ensure you get the classes you need.
You will receive free required course materials from the university in partnership with the Pioneer Bookstore for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. Look for the notice in your account for details.
A $500 device voucher: Students enrolling in at least 12 units may be eligible for a $500 voucher towards the purchase of a pre-configured device bundle (laptop computer) at the Pioneer Bookstore on the Hayward ��vlog��ý

A community of support: Foundations of Success courses are designed to help you find your place in the Pioneer community. This will help you to navigate campus resources and opportunities, refine your academic strengths, and discover your college identity and purpose.
For study strategies and tips for success, our team of Peer Academic Coaches will support you in your foundation courses and through “depth coaching.”
Get free tutoring and support. The , is a free tutoring and support center focused on math, statistics, and science, including the Math Lab and STEM Lab.

Financial Aid is available

Need Financial Aid? If you missed the priority deadline to submit the 2022-2023 Financial Aid Application, you may still be eligible to receive financial aid. It's not too late to submit a FAFSA or CADAA.

We accept applications until the end of the academic year! If you have not already applied for financial aid and wish to do so, please fill out a or right away.

If you have received a Financial Aid award and have not already done so, accept your offer of admission on , and then accept your Financial Aid award.

Financial Aid Topics

Financial Aid typically disburses within 10 days prior to the start of the academic term. If you have financial aid in excess of your bill, the Student Financial Services Department will issue a refund to you after the disbursement. Be sure to sign up for Direct Deposit to receive your refund more quickly. Otherwise, you will be issued a check which can take weeks to arrive!

During the payment deadline, the Student Financial Services Department will review the amount of funds that you have accepted for the term and will consider the amount as payment. Remember that you are responsible for the difference between your Financial Aid and your total bill. Visit this link for information regarding the billing deadline.

Make sure to submit your or application every year, by the priority deadline of March 2. The applications go live each year on October 1.

If you missed the priority deadline to submit the 2021-2022 Financial Aid Application, you may still be eligible to receive financial aid!

1. Citizens and Eligible Non Citizens who submit the FAFSA application may still be considered for the Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG Grant, and Federal Student Loans to assist in meeting their cost of attendance.

2. Dreamers can still take advantage of the California Student Aid Commission's (CSAC) funding process. Each semester, CSAC reallocates unspent grants to eligible students who did not receive the Cal Grant at the start of the year but have submitted their California Dream Act Application. Since Spring 2020, priority Emergency Grant funding went to students who submitted their FAFSA or CADAA Application, and we are expecting additional funding for the 2021-2022 Academic Year.
